Deep learning for tooth identification and enumeration in panoramic radiographs

Author(s): Sadr S; Mohammad-Rahimi H; Ghorbanimehr MS; Rokhshad R; Abbasi Z; Soltani P; Moaddabi A; Shahab S; Rohban MH;

Background: Dentists begin the diagnosis by identifying and enumerating teeth. Panoramic radiographs are widely used for tooth identification due to their large field of view and low exposure dose. The automatic numbering of teeth in panoramic radiographs can assist clinicians in avoiding errors. ...

Alternating direction method of multipliers for displacement estimation in ultrasound strain elastography

Author(s): Md Ashikuzzaman

CONCLUSIONS: A novel ultrasonic displacement tracking algorithm named ALTRUIST has been developed. The principal novelty of ALTRUIST is incorporating ADMM for optimizing an L 1 $L1$ -norm regularization-based cost function. ALTRUIST exhibits promising performance in simulation, phantom, and in vivo experiments.

Nonsingleton Gaussian type-3 fuzzy system with fractional order NTSMC for path tracking of autonomous cars

Author(s): Taghavifar H; Mohammadzadeh A; Zhang W; Zhang C;

Path-tracking and lane-keeping tasks are critical to guarantee safety and navigation performance considerations for deploying autonomous cars. This paper presents a novel control framework for the path-tracking control of high-speed autonomous cars with structured uncertainties. This study introduces a nonlinear adaptive control system based on a fraction ...

Specialized and versatile antisocial behavioral profiles in preschoolers: Associations with persistent behavioral problems

Author(s): Paré-Ruel MP; Stack DM; Hastings PD; Serbin LA;

This study investigated specialized and versatile antisocial patterns in preschoolers and examined the link between these patterns and the risk of developing chronic antisocial behaviors throughout childhood. A total of 556 children (50.6% boys, 88% White) participated in this three-wave longitudinal study at 3-5, 6-8, and 10-12 years old. A latent transi ...

Loosely controlled experimental EEG datasets for higher-order cognitions in design and creativity tasks

Author(s): Zangeneh Soroush M; Zhao M; Jia W; Zeng Y;

Understanding neural mechanisms in design and creativity processes remains a challenging endeavor. To address this gap, we present two electroencephalography (EEG) datasets recorded in design and creativity experiments. We have discussed the details, similarities, differences, and corresponding cognitive tasks of the two datasets in the following sections ...

Greek adaptation of the Teruel Orthorexia Scale (TOS) in adults from the Republic of Cyprus: A bidimensional model May not be universal

Author(s): Argyrides M; Anastasiades E; Maïano C; Swami V;

The Teruel Orthorexia Scale (TOS) is a 17-item instrument designed to assess distinct facets of Orthorexia Nervosa (ON) and Healthy Orthorexia (HO). While a bidimensional model of TOS scores has been supported in diverse national and linguistic groups, the psychometric properties of the TOS have not been previously assessed in Greek-speaking populations. ...
